The City is working on two projects around Whitcomb Bayou and is looking for your input! Please review each project description below and take the survey to share your preferences with the City!

WHITCOMB BAYOU SHORELINE IMPROVEMENTS

The City is seeking to upgrade the shoreline around Whitcomb Bayou to address storm surge and tidal flooding. To accomplish this, the shoreline elevation must be raised. This can be accomplished in several ways, and our experts have prepared three alternatives. The city would like to know if YOU have a preferred option. The three alternatives consist of (1) a concrete barrier wall, (2) raising the elevation of the road (South Spring and Whitcomb Boulevards), and (3) constructing an earthen berm between the shoreline and the existing roadway, or combinations of all of these.

SOUTH SPRING BLVD / MLK DRIVE INTERSECTION IMPROVEMENTS

The City is seeking to upgrade the intersection of MLK Drive and South Spring Boulevard. Upgrades would include raising the elevation of the intersection to help reduce roadway flooding, adding an improved stormwater drainage system, and improving pedestrian and motorist safety by reconfiguring the intersection. The City wants to know which configuration YOU would prefer, a roundabout or a 4-way stop. Both options would include the previously listed improvements.
