UPDATE - OCTOBER 2021

The initial findings of the Disston Avenue Corridor and Land Use study are now available (View Report Here). Based on the initial findings, we are now moving into a Complete Streets Concept evaluation for the Disston Corridor (Phase 2). Click here for more information and for future opportunities for public input on the Complete Streets Concept phase of this project!

The City of Tarpon Springs is in the process of completing a corridor and land use study of Disston Avenue. This corridor runs north-south, from Belcher Road to Live Oak-Spruce Street, and is approximately 2 miles in length. There is a 1/4 mile stretch that is not constructed, which prevents a complete connection between Belcher Road and Live Oak-Spruce Street.

The study is looking at the opportunity to connect the north and south segments of Disston Avenue to create a safe and comfortable alternative north-south route through the City. This study will also evaluate ways to improve mobility and safety along the corridor for people bicycling, walking, and driving, as well as, potential impacts to the surrounding neighborhoods.

Thank you for you input!
