What is a cultural resources survey?
It is the documentation of important historic and cultural sites in the community. This survey focuses on the sites and structures with significance in the Black community. It will tell us what important properties exist, where they are located, and why they are important.
What is the purpose of this project?
What will the cultural resources survey involve?
Will the survey provide any designations for properties?
No. The survey will provide recommendations for preservation plans and programs. Any new designations would require approval from the community and the Board of City Commissioners.
