Hurricane Milton tree survey by UF/IFAS Extension

The University of Florida Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences (UF/IFAS) Extension is preparing to evaluate the impact of Hurricane Milton on the trees and landscapes of southwest Florida. If you choose to participate in this project please complete the survey. The survey is anonymous, and you will not be required to add any personal information.

This survey will take 10-15 minutes to complete.


Sustainability Advisory Committee

The City of Tarpon Springs' Sustainability Advisory Committee is composed of resident volunteers. The Committee may be asked to provide feedback and recommendations on City Sustainability and Resilience initiatives.

The Sustainability Advisory Committee is currently seeking members who are interested in engaging in Sustainability discussions in the City of Tarpon Springs. Members should have interest or expertise in one or more of the three pillars of Sustainability as they relate broadly to Tarpon Springs: Environment (Planet), Economy (Profit), and Social (People). Sustainability Advisory Committee Meetings are held monthly on the third Thursday from 6-8 PM.

Members must be 18 years of age and residents of the City of Tarpon Springs. If interested in serving, please complete the Advisory Board Application and submit the completed form to the City Clerk's office. For additional information, please contact the City Clerk's office at 727-942-5614.

City of Tarpon Springs' Sustainability Plan

The City of Tarpon Springs has created a Sustainability Plan to guide the actions of the City toward a more sustainable future. Actions in the plan relate to the three pillars of sustainability: Environment (planet), Economy (profit), and Social (people). The plan includes 50 actions, focusing on City operations, which will be implemented in phases over the next 10 years. The actions are divided into the following categories:

  • Built Environment
  • Natural Environment
  • Climate & Energy
  • Local Economy
  • Equity & Community
  • Health & Safety


Sustainability Staff

Holly Langston is the Sustainability Coordinator for the City of Tarpon Springs. She serves as the staff liaison to the Sustainability Advisory Committee, the Sustainability Staff Team comprised of representatives from numerous City departments, as well as to the public in order to bring interest and awareness to the City’s Sustainability Plan and related initiatives.
