The US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) has completed design and permitting for a maintenance dredge of the Anclote River Federal Channel; dredging is planned to start by the summer of 2021. In addition to the dredging of the federally designated channel, the City intends to dredge an area known as the Extended Turning Basin near the historic Sponge Docks at the same time as the federal dredge work.
